19-second submission breaks UFC featherweight record

Chas Skelly has become the newest star of the UFC's Featherweight division.

The unranked 31-year-old recorded the quickest submission in the history of the division, with a 19-second win over Maximo Blanco. Skelly has won more than half of his professional fights by submission and now has an 16-2 record. The win came off the back of his only loss in the UFC when he lost to Darren Elkins in March.

The Texas fighter also earned $50,000 as a bonus for the submission, which was the eighth-quickest in the history of the company.

In the main event, Michael Johnson defeated Dustin Poirier in the first round. Poirier, who had defeated Donegal's Joe Duffy earlier this year, suffered his first loss since losing to Conor McGregor in 2014.
