A Celtic fan was fined after throwing a hamburger at a police horse in Manchester

Manchester City and Celtic met in the Champions League on Tuesday night in a thrilling contest.

Youngster Patrick Roberts, who is on loan with Brendan Rodgers' side from the Etihad, made plenty of headlines, and impressed both managers with his ability to take on defenders and his relentless energy on the night.

A draw wasn't enough to see Celtic into the Europa League after defeats earlier in the campaign against Barcelona and Borussia Monchengladbach, but there was certainly plenty for Celtic fans to cheer about after their side's performance.

However, one fan of the Bhoys got a little bit overly animated at the game, as the Greater Manchester Police (GMP) found out to the detriment of one of their horses. They arrested a man after the game for being drunk and disorderly, as well as for throwing a hamburger at the equine officer.

Lancaster, as the horse is known, is apparently in a "stable" condition after the incident, while the fan has been hit with a £90 fine for his troubles.

He wasn't the only one in trouble with the police in Manchester after the match however, as the GMP also tweeted to say that there had been a number of other fans arrested in the wake of the game, including as late as the following morning.
