Adeolokun stars as Connacht run riot

Connacht secured a home quarter-final in the Challenge Cup after a comprehensive 50-14 win over Oyonnax in Galway.

Niyi Adeolokun starred - scoring three tries in the first half - as the westerners recorded a dominant pool win.

Speaking to Off the Ball's Oisin Langan after the match, the winger said: "Yeah, obviously we're delighted to get a home quarter-final at the Sportsgrounds for the fans again.

"The main focus was to get the job done today and luckily enough we started off well and it got a bit scrappy halfway through the game but thankfully we got a few more scores in and we're happy to get the job done.

"We were very disappointed by the way we started last weekend - letting in two tries within five/six minutes so we definitely did talk about that and we're delighted to pull that off and start very well today and you've got to be happy with that," he added.

Asked about the importance of a successful European campaign given their struggles domestically, the speedster said: "Yeah, absolutely, it's been like that for the season - we've had a few good wins to give us confidence going into the league and hopefully this will put us in a good place in the league taking on the Ospreys."

Looking ahead to the next round, the Irish international said: "We're delighted to get the quarter-final, especially at home. It's always great to play at home in the Sportsground because it's going to get loud, it'll be noisy and they'll get behind us so we're delighted to be able to play at home - it just gives us every chance to get further," he added.
