Alexis Sanchez has expressed his concerns over Arsenal's belief in their ability to win the Premier League this season.

The Chile international has given an interview to Directv Sports that has seen the player quoted as suggesting that the Arsenal squad lacks the "self-belief" to win.

However, Sanchez has instead said that they players have got the mentality and the desire to win, but that, "Sometimes we lack this hunger to believe that we can be champions".

"If we go out on to the pitch with hunger to become champions, to win the Premier League or the Champions League, we can achieve it," he said.

“There are great players here, I train with them daily and they have got the mentality and the desire to win but sometimes, we lack the hunger, the mentality that we are winning 1-0 when we go out on to the pitch. Sometimes, we lack this hunger to believe that we can be champions ... to go out on to the pitch feeling that we are already winning 1-0."

Last night's demoralising 2-1 defeat to Swansea has left Arsenal on a run of just three wins in their last 11 games and manager Arsene Wenger has admitted that his side's loss of form "looks a bit" like a confidence issue.
