Amateur Norwegian club turn down Real Madrid's request to use their facilities because of Children's summer camp

Norwegian fifth division club Malvik have rejected Real Madrid's request to train at their facilities ahead of the UEFA Super Cup as it clashes with a summer camp for local kids.

The Spanish giants play Sevilla in Trondheim on August 9th as the winners of the Champions League and the winners of the Europa League face off in a clash of two elite European clubs but the amateur Norwegian club were unwilling to compromise on the kids camp and did not want to let down those who had already registered to take part.

The club's vice-president Frode Forbord admitted it would have been nice to host the Champions League winners but couldn't because of the commitment to the kids.

"The training sessions would coincide with our football school for children in Malvik," Forbord told Norwegian public broadcaster NRK. "It would be nice to have Real Madrid, but we do not want to send 270 children home."

"I hope that [the kids] learn something at our football school, and someday reach Real Madrid," he said. "Madrid did not want to have fans [at their session] and the school has 270 children, so it was not possible to combine the two."
