Andrea Pirlo picks his current Premier League XI (No Leicester players make the team)

Italian legend Andrea Pirlo may now be plying his trade in Major League Soccer, but is influence on the European game is still there for all to see.

The former Juventus midfielder left Serie A in the summer to join MLS newcomers New York City FC. He seems to be enjoying life in The Big Apple.

36-year-old Pirlo recently spoke to the website ShortList where he was asked to pick what he felt was the best All-Star team currently in the Premier League. Leicester City, despite being top of the League do not have any players in the 11, but four teams are represented.

Manchester City lead the way with five players in the team including Joe Hart and Sergio Aguero. Pirlo claims that Hart "gets a lot of praise from (Gianluigi) Buffon, and if you are getting praise from the greatest ever then you are doing something very right".

Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool are also represented in the team but there is no place for Manchester United.

Pirlo's Premier League XI (4-5-1): Joe Hart, Branislav Ivanovic, Vincent Kompany, John Terry, Nacho Monreal, Kevin de Bruyne, Philippe Coutinho, Yaya Toure, Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez, Sergio Aguero.

You can see Pirlo has to say about his full team here.
