Andy Murray outraged after he was handed a women's ball at the Miami Open

Andy Murray was outraged when he was accidentially handed a ball intended only to be used in women's matches, during the second round of the Miami Open.

Murray was serving in the fifth game of the second set when he was handed a lighter ball that is normally used in the women's tournaments which sparked ire in the Scot.

Court-side microphones detected Murray's comments in which he said:''That's one of the women's balls and I could have hit a shot with it.''

Murray then dropped his serve for the first time in the match to fall into a 3-2 deficit and when the players swapped ends at the change of sets, he expanded on his criticisms as he was passing the umpire. He said:

''For me that's not good enough, it's unacceptable. Unacceptable to have one of those balls in there.''

Murray went on to defeat his opponent Denis Istomin in straight sets.
