The eldest son of Anthony Foley has launched a Facebook campaign in memory of his father.
Tony Foley (11) asked supporters to say prayers for the late Munster Rugby coach, rallying people with the hastag #8masses4no8.
He and his younger brother, eight-year-old Dan, stood shoulder to shoulder with Munster players on Saturday after the team’s victory over Glasgow Warriors.
Now, two days later, he has appealed on fans to go to mass for the next eight Sundays, starting this weekend on what would have been his father’s birthday.
The Facebook campaign page - Axel Foley Memorial - has already received more than 12,000 likes.
The Foley family explained in a post: "Tony has been busy thinking of a tribute to his dad and has asked that this page be set up in his memory.
"He wants to use it to ask people, who want to show their support, to attend mass on each of the next eight Sundays to pray for people who have died and while there to offer a prayer for his dad also.
"The eight Sundays start this Sunday, October 30th - his dad's birthday.
"The number eight is, of course, a special number for Tony and his family but the eight Sundays also bring us up to that special family time of year, Christmas.
"So, Tony has asked if you would, in his dad's memory, like and share this page.
"As you do that, tag eight Facebook friends to go to mass over the next eight Sundays and, at that Mass, light a candle for a loved one or, indeed, for Anthony, take a photo of that lit candle and post it to this page using #8masses4no8.
"By doing this you will be bringing additional comfort to this mighty young man and his family at this time.
"Please join this campaign #8masses4no8."
Anthony's wife, Olive, said the appeal was "completely Tony’s idea".
She wrote on the page: “He came up with it on Saturday and did up a presentation that he showed to the family.
"We loved it! Thanks everyone for all the support over recent days, it means so much."
