Anthony Joshua primed for title defence

Anthony Joshua will defend his IBF heavyweight title this Saturday against Eric Molina in Manchester.

The undefeated Briton will be making the second defence of the title he won against Charles Martin last April.

Speaking at the pre-fight press conference the champs said: "I'm here now, injury free. Physically in the best shape I could be. No matter who it is sitting across the table from me, two warriors coming together and putting on a show, put on a good show and throwing it down."

The physically impressive Joshua has stopped all his 17 opponents so far.

Asked about what his opponent might bring to the table, Joshua said: "It's not so much about who I'm fighting, it's about myself. I'm not worried about how Eric's camp has gone because he has to train. Every fighter has to train so I'm not really worried about what they're doing.

"I'm glad that he's healthy and, god willing, I'll go out there and do my job. Eric's trained to his best capability and I'll go out there and crush him and that's all I can really say," he added.

His opponent, Eric Molina, brings a record of 25-3 to the ring on Saturday. He is coming off an impressive stoppage of Poland's Tomasz Ademek and has stopped 19 of his 28 opponents thus far.

The American is in confident mood saying to Joshua: "If you slip-up one second you'll be dancing and the world will be talking."

Elsewhere, Ireland's Katie Taylor will be appearing in her second professional fight when she squares off against Viviane Obenhauf.

Taylor won her debut in convincing fashion when she stopped Karina Kopinska in the 3rd round.

Both fighters are being lined-up for huge fights in 2017. Taylor is in line to fight at Madison Square Garden on the St. Patrick's weekend on Gennady Golovkin's undercard, while Joshua is expected to take on former heavyweight king Wladimir Klitschko in April.
