Antonio Conte's Chelsea only took 16 games to beat last season's win record

Antonio Conte's first season in the Premier League has been excellent.

His Chelsea team are top of the table, six points clear of second-placed Arsenal. The team have won ten games in a row, and look like heavy favourites to win the title.

This season, the Chelsea side look very different to the one that was struggling this time last year. Jose Mourinho was on the verge of being sacked as the team looked like they could be in a relegation battle.

Chelsea's win over Sunderland on Wednesday night, ensures that the team have already won more games than they did last season, despite not reaching the halfway stage of the season

While the second-half of last season ended up being a write-off for the team, the Chelsea of 2016-17 are more focused than the Mourinho/Guus Hiddink incarnation.

This season Conte and Mourinho have already met, with Chelsea winning 4-0 at Stamford Bridge. That was the third game of their ten-match winning run.

Whatever happened last season behind the scenes, it looks like Conte has quickly banished the ghosts of such a forgettable season.
