Two second half goals proved to be the difference as Arsenal earned a 2-0 win at Southampton in Wednesday night's Premier League clash at St Mary's.

The win puts Arsenal up to fifth, three points behind Manchester City with both sides having three matches remaining.

The Gunners are also four points behind Liverpool, with both Arsenal and City having a game in hand on the Reds.

Alexis Sanchez gave Arsenal the lead when he slotted in on the hour mark.

With seven minutes to go, Olivier Giroud headed in a cross from Aaron Ramsey to give Arsenal all three points and following on from the Sunday victory at home to Manchester United, ease the pressure on the club and manager Arsene Wenger.

Next up for Arsenal is an away trip to Stoke City, which has proved difficult for the club in recent years, before they take on Sunderland and Everton at the Emirates.

Wenger's team then finish the season with the FA Cup final against Chelsea on May 27th.
