Arsene Wenger to discuss future at board meeting after FA Cup final

Arsene Wenger is set to discuss his future as Arsenal manager at a board meeting after the FA Cup final against Chelsea.

The Arsenal boss has come under increasing pressure at the club this season, with several fans calling for him to step down.

The club are currently fifth in the Premier League table heading into the final round of fixtures this weekend. Their likelihood of earning a top-four finish for the 21st consecutive year all depends on the outcome of games featuring Liverpool and Man City, as well as their own encounter with Everton.

At the press conference ahead of Arsenal's crucial game on Sunday, Wenger's future at the club was discussed. When asked if this weekend's game will be his last at the Emirates Stadium, he said:

"Of the season? Yes. I cannot tell you that (about my future). I think what is most important for us is to win a football game on Sunday.  After that, what happens to me, is less important. I'm here to serve the club and the best way to do it, is to win the next game".

He later confirmed that the club is holding a board meeting after the FA Cup final, where his future at the club will be discussed among other topics.

"I will be there. At the moment, I think we should focus on (the) short-term and what's going on on Sunday, and in the (FA) Cup final.

"There are many aspects of a football club that will have to be discussed at the board meeting. One of them of course is what is happening with the manager in the future, the players who have to come in and renew contracts and all that. You don't miss problems in a board meeting".

When asked if an announcement will be made in the days after the meeting, Wenger replied:

"Yeah, of course".
