Ireland's Arthur Lanigan-O'Keeffe is in 25th place after the opening part of the Men's Modern Pentathlon in Rio.
He manged 16 wins and 19 defeats from his fencing ranking bouts.
Lanigan-O'Keeffe is on 196 points.
Russia's Alexander Lesun leads the way, setting an Olympic points record of 268 in fencing.
