Aston Villa extend their winless streak with 2-0 loss to Arsenal
Aston Villa's worst winless streak in history continues as all the signs point towards relegation15:53 Sunday 13 December 2015, 15:53 13 Dec 2015
Aston Villa sit rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table with six points separating them and 19th placed Sunderland.
They went 2-0 down to Arsenal in the first half due to some poor tackling by Alan Hutton leading to an Olivier Giroud penalty followed by some collectively poor tracking back by most of the team that led to an Aaron Ramsey finish. They never regained composure and barely put up a fight to get back into the game.
While the second half was an improvement, they still struggled to find the target and had just two on target from 18 shots.
No side in England's top four tiers are on a longer winless streak than Aston Villa (15 matches). (All stats courtesy of Squawka.)

Adama Traore, Jack Grealish and Carles Gil entered the frey in the second half and seemed to improve Villa's attacking dynamic but it was still nowhere near Premier League standard and the future appears bleak for Remi Garda and Aston Villa.
