Atlanta, Miami and Los Angeles announced as future Superbowl locations

American football's showpiece will visit Atlanta, Miami and Los Angeles come the end of the decade, as the NFL announced the location of future Superbowls.

The spectacle will visit Atlanta in 2019, Miami in 2020, before touching down in Los Angeles in 2021.

The three cities have made significant financial investments in new stadiums or recently upgraded an existing one to earn the events.

Atlanta will host its third Super Bowl, but the first at its new $1.4 billion stadium which opens in 2017, while their previous two were held in the Georgia Dome.

Miami hold a record 11th Superbowl but it's in their newly refurbished Sun Life Stadium.

LA has not hosted the Superbowl in 16 years and it was the Pasadena Bowl which played hosted to 1993's event. This time around, it will be held in the new $2.6 billion stadium in Inglewood, California, which opens in 2019.
