Aviva Stadium reportedly among the contenders to host the Fury-Klitschko rematch

On Thursday, there were reports that the rematch between Tyson Fury and Wladimir Klitschko was to take place on a yacht in the Middle East.

According to Friday's Herald the possibility of the two men fighting in the Aviva Stadium is increasing. It would be the biggest heavyweight fight to take place in Ireland since Muhammad Ali fought in Croke Park against Alvin Lewis in 1972.

Fury beat the former Ukranian Champion in Germany in November and hopes to have home advantage for the rematch. The Machester fighter is a former Irish Heavyweight Champion. His father was born in Galway and mother was born in Belfast. Fury speaks regularly about his Irish heritage.

The Ring, WBO, IBO, & WBA Heavyweight Champion is hoping the rematch take place this summer and according to The Herald; "talks are ongoing between Fury’s promoter Mick Hennessy, Klitschko’s management group and established event organisers MCD, whose experience and expertise has impressed both parties."

With consistent rumours of Conor McGregor wanting to fight in either Croke Park or the Aviva Stadium, could Irish fight fans get two major title fights on their doorsteps in a quick period of time?
