Aviva Stadium to introduce "No Bag Policy"

Aviva Stadium management have announced a "no bags policy" for all events in the stadium.

The rule kicks in immediately, and will be first used in the Republic of Ireland's friendly against Uruguay on Sunday evening in the venue.

Security procedures at Irish venues have tightened in recent weeks. Last month, Dublin's 3Arena introduced strict security policies ahead of a Shawn Mendes concert.

The FAI have asked fans to arrive at the stadium, at least one hour before the 6pm kickoff, to ensure everyone is in the stadium in time before kick-off.

Supporters have been reminded "not bring any bags or rucksacks to the game".

"Searching procedures will be in place at all entry points and because of this it is advisable all supporters arrive a little earlier than normal", the FAI revealed in a statement on their website.

Extra security measures will be in place for the match, and the "no bag policy" will continue throughout the summer for Ireland's World Cup qualifier against Austria and two concerts in the Dublin venue.
