Barcelona create a club-record 29-game unbeaten run

October 3rd, 2015 is the last time Barcelona have lost a competitive game of football.

Since their 2-1 La Liga loss away from home, they have remained unbeaten in 29-games in all competitions. That run includes winning the FIFA World Club Cup, reaching the Copa del Rey final, remaining unbeaten in 15 league games and qualifying for the Champions League knockout stages.

Wednesday night's 1-1 away to Valencia created club history for the Catalan giants. It is the first time they have reached the 29-game mark and can reach 30-games at the weekend at home to Celta Vigo.

The statistics behind the unbeaten run are staggering and includes 23 wins and only six draws. Luis Enrique's side have scored 87 goals and conceding just under a goal every other game.

Luis Suarez's unbelievable form continues to astound. The Uruguayan striker has scored 30 goals in the 29 matches. Lionel Messi, in comparison has scored a "paltry" 18.

The team are almost unstoppable at home, winning 16 of their 17 games. The only draw came against Deportivo La Coruna when Barca conceded twice in the last 15 minutes in a 2-2 draw.

The attacking prowess of Suarez, Messi and Neymar is well known. Of the 29 games, the team has only failed to score twice and surprisingly one of those stalemates was against a third-tier team . Villanovense held the Spanish champions to a scoreless draw before losing the away leg 6-1 in the Camp Nou. The other stalemate came against local rivals Espanyol in a league game.

Barcelona's current team have been regarded as one of the best team's in recent memory. It's easy to understand why when looking at those stats.
