Bastian Schweinsteiger will only leave Manchester United if they pay his wages in full

Bastian Schweinsteiger will only leave Manchester United on the condition that they pay the full value of his £13.8m wages in a release fee.

The World Cup winning player, who has two years remaining on his contract in Old Trafford, has failed to get the nod from the new boss Jose Mourinho and has been training with the reserves so far this season.

It's reported that Schweinsteiger has been told by the Portuguese boss that he has no place in the team. It seems now that the German player is ready to leave the club now but wants the remainder of his deal paid in full before departing.

But rather than make the full payout of £13.8m, Man United are hoping that Schweinsteiger's representatives will settle for a compromise amount.

Looking towards his next move, Schweinsteiger is rumoured to be interested in moving to the lucrative Major League Soccer in America. The 32-year-old previously said that United 'will be my last club in Europe.'

He signed for United in 2015 for £8m but made only 18 Premier League appearances last season as he struggled with knee problems and his lack of mobility is said to be the core reason for his omission from Mourinho's plans.
