After 108 years of hurt, the Chicago Cubs won the World Series on Wednesday night, bringing delirious joy to their fans across the United States and around the world.
In the build-up to the seven game series, there were plenty of famous fans who had been backing the Cubs to finally end their streak without a title, including Eddie Vedder, Michelle Obama, and Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, all of whom congratulated the side after their victory.
Go @Cubs, go! Been rooting for you since I was a kid, and so incredibly proud tonight. #FlytheW -mo

They did it! 108 years later and the drought is finally over. Way to make history, @Cubs. #FlyTheW -H

The incumbent President even extended an invitation to the team to make the customary trip to the White House before he leaves, given that he's from Chicago himself.
It happened: @Cubs win World Series. That's change even this South Sider can believe in. Want to come to the White House before I leave?

Perhaps the man who has been the face of the Cubs' celebrity fan base, however, is one Bill Murray, who has suffered for a long time thanks to his support, and he was in great form last night as they claimed the historic victory.
He started off by celebrating the moment that the final, game-winning play was made in the stands among a sea of Cleveland Indians fans, but it wasn't long before he got down on to the field to celebrate with some of the players and other VIPs.

Of course, he made it into the locker room and, somehow, got his hands on a microphone for Fox Sports to conduct an interview with the team's president, Theo Epstein.

He also soaked some of his now-fellow reporters in champagne, and took the chance to get a few words with some of the players, which included telling Jason Heyward that he earned a pretty significant pay check, in case he didn't already know.

In short, Bill might have a bit of a hangover today, but he's likely to say that it was all worth it.
