Bohemians' Ayman Ben Mohamed called up to the Tunisia side

The League of Ireland may have itself a new international star.

Ayman Ben Mohamed has been called up to the Tunisia squad ahead of the team's African Cup of Nations qualifier against Djibouti next month. The game takes place in Djibouti on June 3rd

Tunisia are currently in second place in Group A, two points behind Liberia and need to top the group to qualify automatically for next year's tournament. The finals take place in Gabon next January and February.

Ben Mohamed was born in London, but moved to Dublin as a young child. He qualifies to play for Tunisia through his father, who was born in the African nation.

The Bohemians player joins the likes of Sunderland's Wahbi Khazri in the squad. Tunisia currently lie 47th in the FIFA World Rankings. Only five African sides are ranked higher.

If Ben Mohamed does play for Tunisia, he will join players such as Pascal Millien (Haiti), Romuald Boco (Benin) and Avery John (Trinidad and Tobago) who played international football whilst playing in the League.
