The Dallas Cowboys and Borussia Dortmund are two of the biggest teams in the world, at least when it comes to getting fans through the stadium gates.

The Sport Venues 2016 list takes a look at the teams and stadiums around the world that can boast the biggest attendances, and the Dallas Cowboys take top spot, with Borussia Dortmund coming in second.

1.36 million people headed to the Westfalen Stadion to watch Dortmund in the 2014/15 season, making for an average crowd of 80,410, despite the team struggling to reach the same levels in the domestic league that they had in previous years.

While the Cowboys could only boast just over 720,000, they still topped the average attendances list with 90,069 as they have less home games in a season than the German side.

Overall the NFL occupy a number of the top spots, with all 32 teams in the league occupying spots in the top 50 list.
