Boxer who died after fight donated his heart 'to help others'

A boxer in the UK donated his heart after dying as a result of a head injuries sustained in a fight, an inquest has heard.

22-year-old Jakub Moczyk, affectionately known as Kuba, was knocked unconscious by a punch in the third round of his debut fight on November 19th. He was transferred to hospital where he was placed on life support before he was pronounced dead two days later.

An inquest in Norwich Coroner's Court heard that Kuba died as a result of a traumatic brain injury. The area coroner added:

"Kuba donated his heart to help others."

Moczyk's twin-sister Mgdalena launched a GoFundMe page in his honour and managed to raise £4,000 before her brother died surrounded by family.

Heavyweight boxer Tyson Fury expressed his condolences following Moczyk's passing and told local boxing events promoter Leon Docwra he was 'devastated' by the news.
