Brady, Hendrick and Long vie for PFAI Irish Overseas Player of the Year award

Robbie Brady, Jeff Hendrick and Shane Long have all been shortlisted for the PFAI's Irish Overseas Player of the Year award.

The trio were among the standout performers during Ireland's Euro 2016 campaign in France.

Brady scored the late headed winner against Italy in the 1-0 victory that led the Boys in Green to the knockout stages at Euro 2016 - the first time Ireland had advanced from the group stages at a major tournament since the 2002 World Cup.

He also scored the early penalty in the 2-1 defeat to hosts France in the last-16.

The Norwich midfielder's childhood team-mate at St Kevin's Boys, Hendrick, also enjoyed a positive tournament, hitting the woodwork against Sweden in the opening game and almost finding the net with a long-range effort against Italy.

The 24-year-old, who left Derby County for Burnley at the end of the summer transfer window, also scored his first Ireland goal in September as the Boys in Green drew 2-2 with Serbia in the opening qualifier for the 2018 World Cup.

He also scored his first Premier League goal for Burnley in a 2-0 victory over Watford on September 26th.

Long featured in all four matches at Euro 2016 and scored 13 league goals for Southampton in all competitions during the 2015-16 campaign.

The Tipperary native also found the net in this month's World Cup qualifier in Moldova as Ireland won 3-1 in Chisinau.

Wes Hoolahan was Irish Overseas Player of the Year in 2015, while Seamus Coleman won the award in 2014 and 2015.
