Bruce Springsteen's Croke Park concert causes the Leinster Championship to be rescheduled

Music fans woke up this morning to the news that "The Boss" Bruce Springsteen is returning to Ireland this summer.

Springsteen has played all over Ireland in recent years including concerts in the RDS, Kilkenny, Belfast and Cork but May's concert will be his first in Croke Park. While the news has been welcomed by many, it gives the Leinster Council a headache over Championship fixturing.

A double-header involving the Wexford footballers and hurlers was due to take place in Croke Park two days after Springsteen's concert on May 29th meaning they will have to be moved. The Leinster Football Quarter-Final against Kildare was to be followed by the Hurling equivalent which is already scheduled to be on television that day.

Although one concert has been announced, Springsteen will be expected to play at least once more at GAA Headquarters that weekend, meaning the chances of the May 29th games taking place in Croke Park are almost non-existent.
