Mayo full-back Ger Cafferkey has been ruled out of Sunday's crucial Allianz Football League Division One clash with Down at McHale Park.

He picked up a hamstring injury during last weekend's win over Roscommon.

It comes as another blow for manager Stephen Rochford after yesterday's news that veteran defender Tom Cunniffe will not be returning to the panel this summer and instead is taking some time off to go traveling.

Mayo need a win over Down to make sure that they will be in Division One next year.
