Can cricket in a bowling alley become the crossover sport of this generation?

A group of Australian cricketers may have found a way to make bowling more interesting.

As the Big Bash T20 competition gets underway overnight in Australia, an television ad has shown four player from the Sydney Thunder bringing their skills from the wicket to the lanes.

Mike Hussey, Shame Watson, Clint McKay and Gurinder Sandhu have all played for Australia and are shown trying to knock over the bowling pins with cricket balls.

A cricket pitch is six feet shorter than your standard bowling lane which meant the test should have been that little bit easier. None of the four players scored a strike but Hussey and Sandhu came close, knocking nine pins from two balls.

There should always be more crossover between sports. Who wouldn't want to bring a cricket ball to their local bowling alleyt to give it a go?
