Carlo Ancelotti has admitted to issuing an offensive gesture at Hertha Berlin fans, following a Bundesliga game at the weekend.

Ancelotti had just overseen his Bayern Munich side steal a 1-1 draw, when he was booed and spat at, while walking down the tunnel.

The Bayern boss has since admitted that he displayed his middle finger at the section of the crowd that was heckling him.

"Yes, I made the gesture after being spat at," he told broadcaster ARD.

Robert Lewandowski scored the equaliser in the sixth minute of additional time, although the fourth official indicated that only five minutes of injury time was supposed to be played.

Hertha boss Pal Dardai vented his frustration to Sky Sports after the game, saying:

"First of all, I have to say that my team were outstanding. We also had plenty of opportunities to score the second goal, but we did not manage to do it."

"Unfortunately there was so much stoppage time. That is the Bayern bonus.

"It's not a cup game, we do not play for 120 minutes. Sorry, everyone can be offended -- after five minutes the whistle should be blown."

Hertha defender Sebastian Langkamp was equally dismayed at the extra time played, and said there is 'an unwritten rule that nobody can win against them.'

The result puts Bayern eight points clear at the top of the Bundesliga, while Hertha are sixth.
