Celtic target 27-point Scottish Premiership lead

Celtic can move a step closer to the Scottish Premiership title with a win over big rivals Rangers on Sunday afternoon.

They'll go 27 points clear of second placed Aberdeen by beating them. Moussa Dembele scored a hat-trick against Rangers in their 5-1 victory earlier this season.

The striker believes it's a moment that marked the start of his Celtic career.

"It was my first hat-trick as a footballer and my first goals for Celtic," he said ahead of Sunday's game. "It was a day to remember."

Meanwhile, Rangers new boss Pedro Caixinha is expected to watch from the stands for this lunchtime's Old Firm.

They go into today's match trailing the Scottish Premiership leaders by 33 points.

Midfielder Jason Holt says they're determined to get one over them - having lost three times to Celtic already this season.

"I think it's important that we go to Celtic Park confident," he said. "We have to try and get that win. They've done well so far this season, but we know what is required.

"We feel the pressure that's on and we want to put things right."

Speaking ahead of today's game, caretaker boss Graeme Murty reiterated this point and says the players' focus is only on the game.

"I show them everything that has been written about them. They've been written off, 'Celtic are fantastic' and we're going to get an absolute doing.

"I don't have to motivate them at all. I just say to them 'This is what the world thinks about you'."
