Celtic have started the defence of their Scottish Premiership title with a win.

The champions picked up a 2-1 victory at Hearts.

Scott Sinclair got the winner on his debut for Brendan Rodgers' side after his signing was confirmed earlier.

James Forrest had put Celtic in front on eight minutes but Hearts levelled through Jamie Walker's penalty.

However, Sinclair pounced for the Celtic winner with nine minutes to go.

Meanwhile, last season's runners-up Aberdeen began their league campaign by drawing 0-0 at St Johnstone.
