Celtic legend Henrik Larsson wishes he stayed at Old Trafford a little longer

Celtic legend Henrik Larsson has admitted he wishes he stayed at Manchester United a little longer so he could have picked up a league winners' medal.

Speaking to FourFourTwo magazine, the prolific Swedish marksman said: "That's the only regret I have in my career."

"I should have stayed as it would have meant I got a Premier League winners' medal and I would have stayed for one more season."

"But I still had a contract with Helsingborgs and I feel that when you sign a contract, you have to see it out."

He played a pivotal part in Martin O'Neill's domestic treble winning side of 2000/01.

The Swede move to Spanish giants Barcelona in 2004 winning La Liga titles in consecutive years and also helped the Catalans overcome Arsenal in the 2006 Champions League final.

He returned to Helsingborgs in 2006 but signed a surprise loan deal to Man United in January 2007. Larrson scored three goals in thirteen appearances as the club went on to win the Premier League.
