Celtic signing Kouassi Eboue credits Kolo Toure as he arrives in Glasgow

Scottish Premiership champions Celtic have confirmed the signing of teenage midfielder Kouassi Eboue from Russian side Krasnodar subject to a visa.

The Ivorian player has agreed a four-year deal in Glasgow with the Scottish league leaders.

The fee is understood to be about £3 million (€3.45 million).

Celtic have stated aside from the fee, personal terms have also been agreed with the player, with the granting of a visa the last remaining step.

Regarding the visa, Celtic did add that the club has "received the necessary governing body endorsement from the Scottish FA".

Eboue has been at Krasnodar since 2014 but has not been capped by his country, although he has received a call up in 2016.

In a Q&A with the Celtic club website, Kouassi credited his veteran compatriot and current Celtic defender Kolo Toure as influential in helping him make a decision to join the club.

He said: "When I was young I watched TV and supported him and now when I think I’ll play alongside him I’m really happy. When I knew he was here I asked about Celtic and I’m happy to be here with him. I will learn with him and Celtic has many good players so I will learn with them too. I knew of Moussa Dembele and Scott Sinclair and the captain, Scott Brown as well. I knew of Dedryck Boyata as well from when he played at Manchester City."
