Celtic's Patrick Roberts aiming to keep intensity high as season draws to a close

Celtic midfielder Patrick Roberts is aiming to keep the team's intensity going as they look to complete an unbeaten domestic season.

Brendan Rodgers' side beat St. Johnstone 4-1 on Saturday to move onto 97 points after 35 games.

Roberts scored twice for the Glasgow side and speaking to the club's official website he said: “We’ve been on fire all season and we’ve kept the same mentality every day in training.

“When it comes to games we keep the same intensity and that’s what the gaffer has instilled in us. The belief and mentality to keep winning has been there, along with the desire to score goals.

“It was quite a young side against St Johnstone but we played with confidence. Some of the lads were excellent and I think we thoroughly deserved the win.

“Confidence is key in football and there have been times when I’ve played without it. But I know when I play with confidence that my best abilities come out, and that’s what happened here,” he added.

Celtic play second place Aberdeen this Friday.
