Team Ireland's Ciara Mageean is through to the semi-finals of the Women's 1,500 metres in Rio.
In her first Olympics, the Irish athlete put in an extremely assured performance to finish second behind reigning world champion Genzebe Dibaba of Ethiopia.
Mageean put in a time of 4:11.51.
The County Down runner was 0.23 clear of third place.

And there was no doubt about qualification as the Top 6 from each heat qualify and Mageean was well clear of that.
The semi-finals take place on Sunday.
