Ciaran Clark talks confidence boosts on Ireland duty... and 'Banshee' boxsets

Ciaran Clark is hoping to carry the confidence gained from strong performances in Ireland's March friendlies as he vies for a place in the Euro 2016 squad.

The defender who suffered relegation from the Premier League with boyhood club Aston Villa, and is reportedly the subject of interest from West Brom, enjoyed better times in the 1-0 win over Switzerland, scoring the only goal of the game.

"It was nice to play those two games and to come off that with a win. It was obviously brilliant and that does boost confidence and like I said, I'll try and be confident no matter where I am and no matter where I'm playing. But to come off the back of that was obviously a fantastic achievement," he said.

The defender also talked about how Ireland's players will keep themselves entertained in camp in the lead up to the Euros and during the tournament itself.

"Obviously we've got stuff arranged that will keep the camp strong and keep ourselves occupied," he said, before turning to one activity he has already sorted out for himself.

"Boxsets, yeah, I've just started Banshee, so I'm just firing through that at the minute."
