Clare to meet Limerick in the Hurling Qualifiers

There will be a Shannonside derby in Round 2 of the Hurling Qualifiers after Clare and Limerick were drawn together on Monday morning.

The two teams will meet in the Championship for the first time since last year's Munster quarter-final. On that occasion, Limerick won 1-19 to 2-15.

Both teams reached Round 2 after comfortable weekend wins over Leinster opposition. In Ennis, Clare were 5-32 to 0-12 winners over Laois, while Limerick defeated Westmeath in Mullingar by nine points.

Cork will meet Wexford in the other of the Qualifiers. The Munster side defeated Dublin in Pairc Ui Rinn on Saturday night, while Wexford were eight point winners over Leinster rivals Offaly.

The winners of the two ties will enter the All-Ireland quarter-finals where they will be joined by Galway and the loser of the Munster Final between Waterford and Tipperary.

The two Round 2 clashes are due to take place this weekend, with dates and times yet to be confirmed.
