Claudio Ranieri and Cristiano Ronaldo among big winners at FIFA Awards

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri's been named FIFA Coach of the Year for 2016 at the FIFA Football Awards in Zurich.

The Italian was recognised for his role in leading Leicester to an unlikely Premier League title last season.

The former Chelsea, Roma and Juventus manager beat Real Madrid's Zinedine Zidane and Portugal's Euro 2016 winning boss Fernando Santos to the award.

France legend Zidane led Real to Champions League glory in 2016, adding another trophy to one he won as a player.

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo added the title of world's best player to the Ballon d'Or he won last month at the FIFA Awards.

In the process, he beat Barcelona star Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann, who helped France and Atletico Madrid to Euro 2016 and Champions League finals respectively.

Ronaldo was part of Portugal and Real Madrid sides that beat Griezmann's teams in those finals, although injury forced him off the field in the Euro 2016 final.

USA's World Cup winner Carli Lloyd was named Women's Player of the Year.

Germany's Silvia Neid won the Women's Coach of the Year, having previously won the award in 2010 and 2013.

She led her country to Olympic gold before stepping down as manager.

Malaysian footballer Mohd Faiz Subri won the FIFA Puskas Award for Goal of the Year.
