Cleveland and Houston start NBA Conference Semi-Finals with wins

Cleveland Cavaliers continued their unbeaten start to the NBA Playoffs with a win over Toronto Raptors in the opening match of the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals.

Having defeated Indiana Pacers 4-0 in the opening round, the reigning NBA Champions defeated Toronto 116-105 in the opening match of Round 2 to win five Playoff games in a row this year.

LeBron James top-scored for the fourth time in five Playoff games, scoring 35 points. He scored 11 points more than Kyrie Irving.

The Cavaliers' were excellent value for their win, having held a 22-point lead at the end of the third quarter. With the game all but wrapped up, the team's stars were rested at various times during the final quarter.

After winning the first game so comfortably, the Cavaliers stay at home for the second game on Wednesday night, before a trip to Canada.

In the Western Conference, Houston Rockets recorded a facile victory over San Antonio Spurs in their opening match of the best-of-seven match series with a 126-99 win.

Trevor Ariza, James Harden and Clint Capela all scored at least 20 points on an off-night for the Spurs, where only three players scored at least 10 points.

Tuesday night sees Golden State Warriors begin their Western Conference Semi-Final. They face Utah Jazz, looking to continue their unbeaten run, having won their opening round 4-0.
