Colm Cooper suffers shoulder ligament damage in Munster Final

Kerry have been dealt a potential blow with the news that Colm Cooper has suffered a serious shoulder injury.

The 33-year-old had reportedly injured his collarbone in Kerry's Munster Final win over Tipperary on Sunday afternoon. He failed to score before being substituted in the middle of the first-half.

In a statement released by the Kerry County Board, they reveal the "Gooch" has suffered ligament damage.

"An MRI Scan has confirmed that Colm Cooper damaged shoulder ligaments during the Munster Football Final on Sunday last. His rehab work has started and he will resume playing in due course."

The Dr Crokes star now faces a race to be fit of Kerry's All-Ireland quarter-final in just over three weeks time. Kerry are on the same side of the draw as the Leinster champions, which could possibly set up a mouth-watering semi-final against Dublin in Croke Park.
