Connacht rugby have agreed 2016/17 naming rights for their new seated stand ahead of the new Pro12 season.

The Sportsground in Galway will now boast the Grant Thornton Seated Stand and will seat 290 supporters.

In a statement released by the club today, the reigning Pro12 champions have agreed a deal with "Ireland's fastest growing professional services firm".

"We are delighted to welcome Grant Thornton on board for the season," said Connacht CEO, Willie Ruane. "To have secured a naming rights partner for the first time is fantastic and indicative of the growth we have shown commercially in the past few years."

Frank Walsh, Partner-in-Charge, Grant Thornton added: "Grant Thornton is very excited about this collaboration. Like Connacht Rugby, Grant Thornton has enjoyed considerable success in Galway in recent years and we're very confident that our partnership will ensure both parties continue to grow strongly in the years ahead."
