Connacht earn bonus-point win in Wales

Connacht's outstanding 2015/16 Pro 12 season continued on Thursday night after a four-point victory over the Newport-Gwent Dragons at Rodney Parade.

Pat Lam's side recorded a bonus-point 26-21 win for their second win in Wales this season. Connacht are now back at the top of the table with 45 points from 14 games.

The Westerners scored two tries either side of half-time and went in at the break a point behind. Matt Healy and Tiernan O'Halloran both crossed the whitewash in a six-minute period in the first 20 minutes, but Lam's side still were 15-14 down at the break.

In the second half, Connacht scored to tries in the last 16 minutes. Eoghan Masterson crossed the line after brilliant work from Connacht's forwards before Bundee Aki scored the game-clinching bonus point try five minutes later.

The win was Connacht's third away win of the season in the league. They will hope to extend their lead next week in Italy where they face Zebre. The Italian clash is followed by a home game to Ospreys at Pat Lam's side will hope to qualify for next season's Chmapions Cup at the earliest possible opportunity.
