Connacht coach Pat Lam has decided not to rush his international contingent back into action despite two defeats from two at the start of the Pro 12 season.
Ultan Dillane, Matt Healy and Kieran Marmion will all start on the bench for the trip to Zebre.
Lam has decided to make six changes from the side beaten by Ospreys, with Cian Kelleher starting on the wing, and Caolin Blade at scrum-half.
The other changes are in the pack, with props Denis Buckley and JP Cooney coming into the front row and Lewis Stevenson partnering Andrew Browne in a new second row partnership.
