Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather fight agreement claims emerge

Over the past few months, there has been a slew of speculation that Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather have been negotiating a multi million dollar fight.

But if the latest twist in the saga is to be believed, a boxing bout is now extremely likely to take place between the pair.

That's according to The Irish Sun who quote a source saying a deal has been agreed between the ex-boxer and UFC lightweight champion.

According to their source who they say is "close" to Straight Blast Gym,"Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather have agreed a deal to fight and have both settled on their respective fees.

"The contract hasn’t officially been signed yet because of a third party hold-up but all the details have all been agreed on.

"The fight could even be announced within two weeks."

One will have to wait and see whether that transpires.

However, there had been increasing indications that McGregor, for example was interested in making a fight happen.

In January, McGregor's striking coach Owen Roddy told Newstalk MMA contributor Peter Carroll that talk around a fight against Mayweather had increased.

"He would mainly bring up Floyd in passing, but over the past month or two it’s started to become more serious. It was just chitchat before but now everything is a lot more direct," Roddy had said.

"Saying that, I still have no idea if this fight can ever happen, but it definitely seems to be getting closer and closer to becoming a reality."
