Conor McGregor v Manny Pacquiao could happen

Boxing promoter Bob Arum says he is willing to step out of the way if it means Manny Pacquaio can fight Conor McGregor.

The UFC lightweight champion has been vocal in recent months about stepping into the boxing ring and taking on unbeaten American Floyd Mayweather.

The pair have traded barbs across social media but are yet to have formal negotiations about a possible bout. Pacquiao has since registered his interest in a boxing bout with the Dubliner but Dana White said he wasn't interested in working with the Filipino's long time promoter, Top Rank's Bob Arum.

However, Arum is willing to take a back seat in any talks that may occur in a bid to let the "Pacman" get one final big payday.

Speaking to TMZ, Arum said: "I don't have to be involved. I ain't getting in the ring. But that is an easy fight for Manny, and I would love for the fight to happen.

"If the only impediment to Manny Pacquiao fighting Conor McGregor is because Dana doesn't like me, then I won't be around. I would give Manny the right and the permission to fight Conor McGregor any time the money is right for Manny," he added.

Although Pacquiao is much smaller than McGregor, he has fought larger fighters throughout his career which included wins over Oscar De La Hoya, Antonio Margarito and Miguel Cotto.
