Conor McGregor vows to never fight in Las Vegas again

Conor McGregor may have fought his last fight in Las Vegas.

The UFC Featherweight Champion was fined earlier this week by the Nevada Athletic Commission for throwing a water bottle at a pre-fight press conference before his re-match with Nate Diaz in August. The Dubliner was fined  €135,000 fine and was 50 hours of community service.

Speaking on Wednesday to The Herd with Colin Cowherd, UFC President Dana White admitted that McGregor has made clear, he has no interest in fighting in Nevada ever again.

"Conor McGregor hit me yesterday and said, ‘I don't ever want to fight in Nevada again. Ever."

"Now how does that make sense for the state of Nevada? that you're going to try and fine this kid - and Nate - that much money. It just makes people not want to come and fight in our state and that's not a good thing."

"And guess what!? Conor McGregor doesn't need Nevada. He could fight anywhere. He could fight in Iowa! We can put his fight on an Island off the coast of anywhere... and it just makes no sense for the state. It's just terrible"

Since making his debut in Las Vegas in September 2014, McGregor has fought five of his previous six fights in Las Vegas. He moves from the west coast to the east next month. The 28-year-old headlines the UFC 205 card against Eddie Alvarez in Madison Square Garden in New York on November 12th.
