Cork might have outclassed Mayo, but Peadar Healy sees areas of improvement

New Cork manager Peadar Healy saw his side set down a marker in the Allianz League opener against Mayo, but he feels there is still plenty of scope for improvement.

Healy watched his side triumph by 1-18 to 0-12 at Pairc Ui Rinn before their second 2016 league clash in Donegal next week and shared his reaction with Off The Ball's Dave McIntyre.

"That's a good Mayo side. Look, we asked the lads for a performance and to be fair to them they performed well. But having said that, there's plenty of room for improvement.

"There were times when our forwards took the wrong options. But look, there's plenty of room for improvement."

In terms of implementing a new style of play for Cork, Healy feels that is in the wait-and-see category.

"Let's see over the course of the league and see then. We'll go up to Donegal now and it'll be different. T'was an open game today. We'll go up to Donegal next week and see what happens," he said.
