Cork reveal their blue and yellow 1916 commemorative jersey

Last month, it was revealed that Cork's hurlers were to line out in one-off kits against Kilkenny in their Allianz League match.

Kieran Kingston's side are to wear blue jerseys against the All-Ireland champions this week as part of the Cork County Board's 1916 celebrations. The county wore blue and yellow jerseys 100 years ago before switching to the red kits for which they are known today.

The jersey for Saturday night's game will have a large yellow C on the front of the jerseys in homage to the Cork jerseys of 100 years ago.

Although the kit will only be worn once by the team, it is expected to go on sale later this week. Kit manufacturers O'Neills have already released a commemorative jersey for 1916.

The Southern Star sports editor Kieran McCarthy was the first person to release photos of the jersey on Wednesday night.
