Former Athletic Bilbao and Marseille manager Marcelo is the favourite to take over the vacancy at Swansea City.

The ex-Argentina boss is admired for his high pressing, attacking, approach although his spells in charge of clubs have tended to end in acrimony.

Bielsa dramatically resigned as Marseille manager at the very start of this season, having thrilled the club's fans last season with a fast start to the season before finishing fourth in the French top flight.

Previously at Athletic Bilbao, he had led the Basque club to a Europa League final, enjoying a famous 5-3 aggregate win over Manchester United along the way.

With Swansea having parted ways with Garry Monk last week, the 60-year-old is believed to be about to begin talks with the Premier League club's chairman Huw Jenkins about becoming the next manager.

He would be an interesting choice given his lack of English and occasional volatility when it comes to dealings with players in the long run.
