Dana White hints that Ronda Rousey's UFC career is over

UFC president Dana White has strongly hinted that former women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey will not fight again.

After a chastening defeat to Holly Holm at the height of her success at UFC 193 in November 2015, her comeback fight to Brazilian fighter and UFC division champion Amanda Nunes did not go to plan.

At UFC 207 on December 30th 2016, Rousey's fight ended after 48 seconds in the first round by technical knockout.

Her future in the sport is now extremely uncertain and White's comments suggest that she won't be back in the Octagon in the future.

Speaking to the UFC Unfiltered podcast, White said he had spoken to the former champion.

"In the conversation I had with her, if I had to say right here right now – again I don’t like saying right here right now because it’s up to her – but I wouldn’t say she fights again," he said.

White also suggested that she will move into other domains in the next chapter of her life.

"She’s so competitive that her career and record meant everything to her. And then once she lost, she started to say to herself, ‘What the f*** am I doing? This is my whole life. This is it? I want to experience and start doing other things.’ And I think that’s what she started to do, and she’s got a lot of money. She’s never going to need money again," he said.
