Dani Osvaldo's career to slip further into the mire

Former Southampton striker Dani Osvaldo is on the lookout for a new club once again after getting caught smoking in the dressing room after a game.

The Italian international has been plying his trade with Boca Juniors this season after a failed stint with Porto after his ignomonious departure from St. Mary's in 2015.

However, osvaldo has only managed little over 300 minutes of playing time this season as his career continues to be hampered by injuries and overshadowed by off field incidents, the latest of which being the straw that broke the camels back.

After coming on in a Copa Libertadores game against Nacional, instead of applauding the travelling support like the rest of the team, Osvaldo went into the dressing room immediately after the full-time whistle.

There, according to widespread reports in Argentine media, he was caught by club coach Guillermo Barros Schelotto and his brother, assistant Gustavo, smoking a cigarette in the bathroom.

Xeneize authorities met on Friday to confirm the decision with Barros Schelotto, who informed president Daniel Angelici he did not want to work with the Italy international after his behaviour the previous evening.

Once a highly sought talent after spells with Juventus and Roma, 30-year-old Osvaldo is set to be on the look out for a new club, and you could see why he was considered such a coup for the Saints when they signed him with goals like this.
